Business Development Manager (Location flexible)

Responsibilities

As a Business Development Manager, you are responsible for delivering client acquisition and revenue growth objectives. You will be generating your own leads and engaging new contacts as well as being supported with leads by the business. You will be maximising any referral or future opportunities - the key is customer service to create long term relationships to help drive new client engagements.

Role Duties

  • Attend meetings set by the internal sales development team.
  • Book and attend self-generated meetings.
  • Close new business sales opportunities.
  • Create and nurture a referral network (accountants and business introducers).
  • Develop and maintain relationships with your clients.
  • Acquire technical knowledge of products.
  • Produce timely and successful resolution of client escalations where required.
  • Represent the business at conferences, trade fairs and networking events.
  • Be responsible for delivering the appropriate documents to the client for the pre-qualification process and for signing the client up.
  • Use sales techniques to identify needs and close any opportunities presented.

BDM profile

  • A minimum of 2 years B2B experience.
  • Ability to demonstrate client relationship development, management, and retention skills.
  • Open and willing to learn commercial tax products including Research and Development services, Capital Allowances, and Land Remediation.
  • A proven record in exceeding revenue and retention targets.
  • Ability to work with and maintain sales systems.
  • Must have own car.

Role Objectives

  • Generate a minimum of £30,000 monthly revenue.
  • Promote all commercial tax services to new and existing customers, including research and development, capital allowances, and land remediation.
  • Deliver a minimum of eight self-generated meetings per month.
  • Maximise referral scheme with existing client base.
  • Make a set number of calls per month.
  • Maximise internal sales opportunities.
