You will:Undertake statutory roles and duties as an AMHP under the Mental Health Act 1983 (as amended).Coordinate and lead Mental Health Act assessments across a range of settings, including the community, hospitals, police stations, and Places of Safety.Use a strengths-based approach to complete assessments and develop outcome-focused support plans that maximise choice, independence, and wellbeing.Work collaboratively with individuals, families, carers, and professionals across agencies to provide a whole-systems approach to care.Contribute to safeguarding vulnerable adults, ensuring that practice reflects Southwark’s commitment to protection and empowerment.Maintain accurate and timely case records and reports in line with departmental policy.Keep up to date with legislation and professional best practice, including the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and associated codes of practice.About You:You will be a qualified and registered Social Worker with current AMHP status (or actively working towards it).
