Job Summary This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, enthusiastic, and highly motivated Clinical Scientist to join our Radiotherapy team. The Department completed the replacement of our fleet of linacs in 2022 following the installation of our second Halcyon, and the IT infrastructure was replaced in May 2024. Plans are in place for the expansion of our brachytherapy service following the replacement of our current system with the Bravos treatment unit in January 2026. Additionally, the Trust is working closely with local charities to purchase and install surface‑guided radiotherapy on all four of our linacs. Main duties of the job Take the scientific lead for Quality Assurance (QA) within the Radiotherapy Physics Department, ensuring the QA programme meets the patient and staff safety requirements of the Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations 2017 (IR(ME)R17) and the Ionising Radiation Regulations 2017. Act as a Medical Physics Expert under IR(ME)R17 for the Oncology services. Lead equipment commissioning during the clinical implementation of new treatment techniques.
