Overview Vickerstock are working in partnership with a leading organisation on the appointment of a Health & Safety Advisor. As a Health & Safety Advisor, you will play a key role in supporting the Compliance & Sustainability team and ensuring group-wide Health & Safety objectives are achieved. In your new role Supporting the delivery of the organisation's growth strategy, embedding compliance and promoting a positive safety culture across all sites Working closely with production and distribution teams to develop a strong understanding of operations to enable effective risk assessment and safety planning Completing scheduled depot compliance audits, ensuring health & safety controls are effectively implemented, maintained and documented Reviewing and updating risk assessments and safe systems of work for all processes and operational activities Attending monthly operations meetings and providing input on health & safety performance and compliance Delivering toolbox talks, training sessions and safety communications to support risk reduction strategies and strengthen employee awareness Ensuring all contractors meet compliance requirements, including the review of documentation and issuing of permits to work Maintaining accurate records of accidents, near misses and spills, ensuring the database is kept up to date Supporting investigations into incidents and assisting in the identification of root causes, corrective actions and follow-up measures Working alongside Environmental and ROI Health & Safety colleagues to deliver on group-wide compliance objectives Assisting the Compliance & Sustainability Manager in the implementation of an enhanced health & safety management system What you will need to succeed NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent) Experience in a similar Health & Safety role Experience in risk assessment development and implementation of safe working procedures Qualification in training delivery or demonstrable experience providing training IT and numeracy skills (MS Office) Flexibility to travel between sites across Northern Ireland Desirable Experience managing contractors and overseeing permit-to-work systems Experience delivering training sessions Other relevant Health & Safety certifications For a more detailed brief and a confidential conversation on how Vickerstock can help support you with your next move, get in touch with Sam Geddis, our Health and Safety Specialist today.
