Overview We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity to help reduce health inequalities linked to tobacco dependence. We are seeking motivated, enthusiastic, and proactive individuals to join us as Tobacco Dependency Advisors, working collaboratively across SWFT and GEH to support key initiatives. Responsibilities Act as the first point of contact for patients identified as smokers, ensuring timely reviews of patients' needs. Deliver a high-quality, evidence-based behavioural support as outlined in the National Centre for Smoking Cessation and Training Standard Treatment Programme and NICE Guidance, including support and advice to access pharmacotherapy such as Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) and Behavioural Therapy. Operate under the support and guidance of the Nurse Lead for the service and abide by Trust protocols. Ensure specialist Tobacco Dependency information, advice, and guidance is accurate, current, and at all times supports the design, implementation, and maintenance of the Tobacco Dependency service, systems and processes. Ensure internal and external standards for recording and monitoring activity, including outcomes achieved, are met. Support the delivery of an effective, high-quality staff education, training and awareness programme meeting internal and external standards for Tobacco Dependency support. Provide caring and compassionate patient care, undertaking assessment, implementation and evaluation of patient care needs for a defined group of patients under the indirect supervision of a registered professional. Qualifications While explicit qualifications are not listed, the role requires working as part of a team committed to delivering and improving a high standard of nursing care within South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust.
