Clinical/Counselling Psychologist/CBT Therapist/PsychotherapistThere is an exciting opportunity for a senior psychologist in the Neighbourhood Psychology Team (NPT). The team is part of the wider multidisciplinary team (MDT) for community mental health 'Neighbourhood Teams', based in the vibrant, multicultural boroughs of City & Hackney.NPT offers time limited psychological interventions in groups and one to one, to service users with mental health difficulties including trauma, CPTSD, complex emotional needs and disordered eating. The successful candidate will have an interest in population health and be passionate about developing pathways that meet the needs of our populations, including partnership working will local third sector organisations.There are opportunities to develop skills in leadership, offering formulation, consultation and support to the MDT, and developing the clinical pathways in the team. Co-production is a key part of developing services in ELFT, so the successful post-holder should have knowledge and experience of this. The post holder will supervise junior staff, which might include a qualified or trainee psychologist, or clinical associate in psychology.Main duties of the jobAct as a senior applied psychologist/psychological therapist in the neighbourhood MDTsUndertake specialist psychological assessment of service users, collaboratively developing care plans that take a holistic view of the personProvide psychological treatment to a caseload at the same time as acting as lead professional to those clients, working closely with other members of the Neighbourhood mental health team.Provide specialist consultation and formulation to the broader staff team within the neighbourhoods MDT on the management of cases.To provide clinical supervision and line management to B7 psychologist and designated junior colleagues, e.g Clinical Associate Psychologist in Training or Assistant Psychologist, and/or where appropriate Trainee Clinical/Counselling Psychologists.Commitment to continuous improvement of the clinical offer, utilising co-production and partnership working where appropriate.About usOur mission is to make a positive difference to people's lives by improving the quality of life for all we serve. colleagues in the Trust and our partner organisations.Job responsibilitiesTo join with service users, carers and experts-by-experience in the co-production of place-based interventions for individuals with a range of mental health difficulties, according to the population health approach adopted within the neighbourhoods.To be responsible for implementing sound clinical skills in mental health practice, including coordinating patient care, group work, risk assessment and management and crisis intervention.To evaluate and make decisions about treatment and recovery plans taking into account both theoretical and therapeutic models and highly complex factors concerning historical and developmental process that have shaped the individual, and the wider determinants of health and wellbeing, in conjunction with the team.Clinical:Provide skilled assessments of service users emotional and psychological needs based upon the understanding, interpretation and integration of complex data given by the service user and obtained from other sources.Develop robust psychological formulations with the service user.Implement psychological interventions based on the presentation and needs of the service users, which draw on a range of modalities that may include DBT skills, trauma focused and narrative approaches, both in one to one and group settings.Communicate in a skilled and sensitive manner, information concerning assessment, formulation and treatment plans of service users under their care and to monitor progress together with team.To demonstrate clear knowledge of the 1983 Mental Health Act.To undertake frequent risk assessment and risk management for service users and to provide advice to other professions on aspects of risk assessment and risk management, considering immediate physical safety and psychological needs.Work closely with colleagues in the MDT to promote trauma informed, psychological ways of working and holistic care.Administration:To maintain the highest standards of clinical record keeping including: electronic data entry and outcome recording of sessions , report writing in accordance with professional codes of practice, Trust policies and procedures and provide statistical returns in accordance with service requirements.To participate in the investigation of accidents, incidents or complaints in accordance with Trust policy.To be involved in developing new areas of work and initiatives within the service.Management:Contribute towards the development of effective training plans and support with leading on team building, when requested, as part of the change management process, to promote an open, honest, supportive forward and outward looking working environment, facilitating new ideas, suggestions or debate in relation to the service requirements.Participate in the formulation and implementation of protocols and procedures for the delivery of the transformation pilot projectCarry out a range of clinical audits within the setting and necessary reporting back to managers on key performance indicators for the Mental Health Trust and the Local Authority in relation to the pilot project.Facilitate service user and carer involvement in the ongoing development and evaluation of the project, with a particular focus on developing co-produced interventions.Professional Responsibilities:To ensure professional through active participation in internal and external CPD training and development programmes.To contribute to the development and articulation of best practice across the service, by continuing to develop the skills of a reflexive and reflective practitioner, taking part in regular professional supervision and appraisal and maintain an active engagement with current developments in the field of Complex Emotional Needs, Personality Disorder, Trauma-Informed Care, substance misuse, psychological therapy and related disciplines.To actively participate in the formulation, direction and development of policies and procedures relating to the service.Teaching, Training, Research and Supervision:To provide regular clinical and professional supervision to B7 psychologist and designated junior colleagues, e.g Clinical Associate Psychologist in Training or Assistant Psychologist, and/or where appropriate Trainee Clinical PsychologistTo participate in teaching and act as mentor/role model to students of various disciplines.To assist and provide teaching to health faculties/other multidisciplinary professionals of the specialist treatment methodology developed within the specialist personality disorder pathway and the wider trust.To participate in the on-going research and in audit projects where necessary. To collate data as necessary.To utilise theory, evidence-based literature and research to support evidence-based practice in individual and group work with other team members.Person SpecificationQualificationsDoctoral level (or equivalent) qualification in Clinical Psychology Or Equivalent core professional qualification in another health profession and demonstrable evidence of continuing professional development and post qualification training in psychological therapy, with a minimum of a PG dip in Cognitive Therapy from a certified courseRegistration with appropriate professional body, HCPC or BABCPClinical supervision training for doctoral clinical /counselling psychology trainees.Further training in a therapeutic modality relevant to complex mental health e.g. EMDR, trauma focused CBT, NET, DBT, SCM, narrative approachesExperienceDemonstrable experience of working therapeutically in mental health settings directly with service users with severe and complex needs and comorbidities e.g. Complex trauma, social deprivation, substance misuse etc.Experience of psychological assessment, formulation and treatment of service users across the full range of multidisciplinary care settingsExperience of exercising full clinical responsibility for service users' psychological care and treatment, within the context of a multidisciplinary care plan.Collaborative risk assessment and safety planningOne to one and group intervention experienceExperience of working in different cultural contexts, including with interpretersSupporting the MDT to integrate psychological working through formulation, reflective practice and consultationLine management and supervision of junior psychological professionalsSkillsCo-productionof interventions and servicesKnowledgeKnowledge of relevant legislation and safeguardingDisclosure and Barring Service CheckThis post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.£64,156 to £71,148 a yearper annum pro rata #J-18808-Ljbffr
