New York, United Kingdom North Tyneside Council Full time

Are you a dynamic social worker, who values creativity and variety in your work? The North Tyneside Council Adult Social Care Gateway service wants to hear from you In the Gateway service, no two days are the same. We provide shorter-term interventions with people across the full spectrum of needs for adult social care, so Gateway will provide you with opportunities to develop wide-ranging expertise. In some instances, this will be providing support and stability in a crisis. In other situations, you'll be providing proportionate interventions, based on advice, equipment and community services. The team is built on collaborative, integrated working, so you'll have access to expertise and support on tap. As a social worker in Gateway, you'll join an integrated team of: Advice and Information Response Officers, providing first stage triage. Care & Connect community navigators, delivering preventative social inclusion interventions. Welfare Assistance, coordinating our crisis financial support and supported housing offer. Gateway Access Plus, providing intensive health and social care interventions with people who face multiple exclusions. We also work hand-in-hand with the adults MASH, Reablement, Community Rehabilitation Service, and OT teams, to enable swift and effective initial and preventative responses. We want to support you to do what you do best: building relationships, and coordinating the interventions people need to achieve positive change. Hence, all our social workers currently have access to AI tools to save time typing up assessments. We'll also support you with your career ambitions: we're incredibly proud to have come 2nd in the country for social worker satisfaction in the 2025 Employer Standards Health Check. We achieved a 'Good' rating in our recent CQC inspection, which highlighted our positive organisational culture and investment in professional development. Wherever you are in your social work career journey, we're looking to hear from you. We support newly qualified social workers via our ASYE programme, with monthly masterclasses to help you to get to grips with qualified practice. Our progression framework offers structured support to achieve progression to our upper pay grade in as little as 2 years. Following progression, we fund a wide range of post-qualifying training through higher education institutions. And, when the time is right, we provide social workers with a development programme as they move into leadership roles. You'll need flexibility in approach, and a range of skills in crisis intervention, strengths-based approaches and trauma-informed practice. Sounds like you? Apply to join us now.
