These newly developed posts, based within the beautiful area of Conwy & Denbighshire in our newly developed Central Hub, will provide caring clinicians with flexibility, autonomy and professional growth and development. As part of our transformation and development of Child and Adolescent Mental Health services, we are strengthening our leadership, pathways and services to provide a rapid, robust and extended multi‑agency crisis response that includes prompt assessment, liaison, consultation, training and where appropriate intensive time‑limited interventions for children and young people up to the age of 18, who are experiencing an acute mental health and/or psychosocial crisis. Main Duties The post holder will undertake assessments in A+E, acute wards & other community settings to support rapid crisis response in the least restrictive ways, but also consistent with identified needs, to ensure Young People’s & other’s safety. You will provide clinical formulation, identifying the young person’s & family’s needs, offer liaison, consultation & intervention to facilitate safe discharge & care planning across partner agencies. There is a requirement to work flexibly across North Wales, as the service develops to a 24‑hour provision. The post holder will be a part of a multi‑disciplinary Regional crisis service, working with young people experiencing mental health crisis, whereby hospital admission is a strong possibility, but can be safely supported within the community. The post holder will provide urgent assessment & brief, evidence‑based intervention to children & young people with mental health problems & significant mental health disorders; support parents carers & front line professionals in understanding & supporting the young person through providing education & advice on how to manage the condition. Using a team approach, the post holder will work flexibly across the Region (including out of hours), intensively, creatively & responsively to clients’ needs. The post holder will also ensure good links with others within the CAMHS area & other relevant agencies. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; Welsh or English speakers are equally welcome to apply. Person Specification Qualifications and/or Knowledge Essential Criteria: Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Registered Nurse, Mental Health. OR Social Worker registered with the Care Council. OR Occupational Therapist registered with the Health Professions Council – evidence of personal and clinical development. Evidence of postgraduate training for the supervision and teaching of junior staff. Extensive knowledge of mental health issues. Up to date knowledge and application of consent, data protection, patient confidentiality and risk management with Health and Safety issues. Up to date working knowledge of the Mental Health Act. Knowledge of relevant national strategies. Knowledge of the principles of change management. Desirable Criteria: Degree in relevant clinical/professional area, Specialist practitioner award. Knowledge of Interview and Appraisal process. Knowledge of management theories. Knowledge of local policies / procedures and guidelines. Experience Essential Criteria: Relevant post‑registration experience of working with children, young people and families in a health or social care environment or mental health setting. Desirable Criteria: Experience of resource management and policy development. Experience of working as a Mental Health practitioner in a Community Setting. Excellent communication skills. Evidence of basic IT skills. Evidence of people management and leadership skills. Demonstrate the ability to care and communicate an advanced understanding of the psychological needs of individuals. Evidence of analytical skills. Effective problem solver. Advanced clinical skills.
