Job Overview In North Wales we are very excited to be growing our CAMHS Services. If you have a passion for working with children and adolescents or those experiencing mental health difficulties, and are a healthcare professional, accredited therapist or Social Worker with experience supporting emotional wellbeing, we are keen to hear from you. You will be a dynamic individual committed to delivering high‑quality, evidence‑based compassionate care and keen to undertake a role within a child and adolescent mental health service. Main Duties of the Job Work individually and as part of a team in carrying out SPoA assessments and Choice and Partnership work under the Care and Programme Approach (CAPA) model. Provide assessment and intervention, and/or specific evidence‑based therapies to children and young people with mental health problems and significant mental health disorders. Provide consultation and support to front‑line professionals in understanding and supporting children/young people and families through training, advice and direction, and the delivery of early intervention programmes. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply. Person Specification Qualifications and Knowledge Essential Criteria Professional qualification and registration: NMC Registered Mental Health Nurse or NMC Registered Learning Disability Nurse, or Social Care (Wales or England) Registered Social Worker (transfer to Wales within 3 months of appointment), or HCPC Registered Occupational Therapist, or HCPC Registered Practitioner Psychologist. Eligible to practice under the Mental Health Measure Wales 2010. Post‑graduate diploma or relevant knowledge, training and experience in the specialist field of mental health. Excellent knowledge of mental health problems that affect children and young people. Excellent knowledge of family dynamics and issues relating to working with families. Understanding of relevant therapeutic approaches. Knowledge and appreciation of national policies. Desirable Criteria Additional formal qualification in a recognised therapeutic approach. Specific, targeted, evidence‑based interventions (e.g. EMDR). Formal qualification in a relevant field (e.g. Child Development, Mental Health). Understanding of service structures and inter‑agency working. Knowledge of specific disorders/conditions relevant to CAMHS. Experience Essential Criteria Relevant post‑registration experience working in a health or social care environment or mental health setting. Desirable Criteria Experience of working in a specific clinical role relating to CAMHS. Previous specialist CAMHS experience.
