About the Role We are looking for a Senior Workshop Technician with a strong electronics background to join our collaborative, multidisciplinary Workshop Facility. The role is based in the Electronics workshop and focuses on the maintenance, repair, and modification of electronic components in laboratory instruments. You will also contribute to the design and build of bespoke scientific equipment. The position involves troubleshooting, component‑level repairs, and prototyping new devices, working closely with researchers, engineers, and other technicians. Responsibilities Maintain, repair, and modify electronic aspects of laboratory instruments. Design and build bespoke scientific equipment and prototypes. Diagnose and troubleshoot electronic and mechanical faults. Collaborate with researchers, engineers, and technicians to solve practical problems. Ensure high safety standards and good workshop practice. Support and train team members in electronic repair techniques. Qualifications and Experience Strong practical experience in electronics, gained through professional roles or personal projects. Proficient in soldering, PCB work and circuit‑level repairs. Methodical troubleshooting skills and the ability to build innovative solutions. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Formal qualifications are welcome but not essential; significant relevant experience is considered adequate.
