Reporting to the Chief People Officer (CPO), the People & OD Business Manager acts as a strategic advisor to the CPO, helping to define, prioritize, and operationalise the People & OD Strategy. The business manager partners closely with senior leadership across the organisation to ensure alignment with business objectives and drive key people initiatives for Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust (MTW), Kent and Medway and national programmes of work. The role serves as primary support to the CPO providing strategic leadership, including project and programmatic oversight and operational support. The role is responsible for integrating and strategically aligning work across all functions within People & OD. In addition, this role will assess matters and determine the proper course of action and identify high‑risk and urgent matters that may require the CPO’s attention, enabling the team to focus on the vision, goals, and priorities of the function. Fordcombe Hospital, near Tunbridge Wells, became part of the Trust in October 2024 and specialises in planned care, offering two operating theatres, 28 inpatient and day‑care beds, diagnostic services (X‑ray, MRI, CT, and endoscopy), and consultation/treatment rooms.
