You’ll be a lifeline for vulnerable individuals—helping rough sleepers access survival essentials, supporting people to find safe accommodation, and guiding them toward vital services that improve their health, wellbeing, and independence. Through your outreach, advice, and advocacy, you’llHelp reduce homelessness by connecting individuals with emergency shelter and long-term housing support.Improve quality of life by supporting access to benefits, healthcare, and mental health services.Empower people to rebuild their confidence, seek employment, and re-engage with education and training.Strengthen community connections by promoting fairness, dignity, and inclusion.Your role won’t be about ticking boxes—it will be about making a real, lasting difference. Every conversation, every visit, and every small action will contribute to long-term change for individuals and the wider community.What are we looking for?The ideal Community Outreach Worker will have experience in outreach settings and supporting vulnerable people, including those with mental health issues, as well as working with young people. A good standard of general education (such as 4 GCSEs or equivalent) is also desirable. They should possess strong skills in advising, guiding, and persuading others, alongside the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with vulnerable individuals, colleagues, and stakeholders. Being approachable and empathetic with excellent listening skills is essential, as is a solution-focused mindset and good organisational abilities. Personal qualities such as understanding, care, and a helpful nature are vital, combined with a high level of commitment, enthusiasm, and passion for supporting vulnerable people. The worker must understand the emotional and physical impact of rough sleeping and be able to use their own initiative when required. Every survival kit we deliver, every outreach visit we make, and every bit of advice we offer helps change lives.About The RoleAs an Outreach Worker, you’ll play a key role in delivering frontline support across a variety of projects. You’ll be working closely with individuals experiencing homelessness or hardship, providing direct support and helping connect them with essential services and opportunities.Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out outreach work across the community, building trust with vulnerable individuals.Distribute survival kits and other essential items to those sleeping rough or in crisis.Provide advice, signposting and guidance on benefits, healthcare, housing, and employment.Support individuals to access adult education and training opportunities.Assist with project coordination and support fundraising activities.Promote our work and values through social media and product fundraising.What We’re Looking ForCompassionate, reliable and approachable individuals who are ready to work hands-on in the community.Experience working with vulnerable groups is desirable, but not essential — the right mindset matters most.A team player with strong communication skills and a proactive attitude.Flexibility to adapt to the needs of different service users and situations.Why Join Us?You’ll be part of a passionate, purpose-led team making a visible difference in people’s lives.
