Estimator at TAIT TAIT is a global provider of live event and experience solutions, partnering with artists, brands, and technology firms to create culture‑defining events. With over 45 years of innovation, TAIT delivers cutting‑edge technology, precision engineering, and creative design across 20 offices worldwide. Position Purpose The Estimator assists TAIT in accurately costing projects and parts, providing historical cost data, and supporting pricing, budgeting, and forecasting. The role requires understanding scope, schedule, budget, and TAIT’s cost and pricing models to create reliable estimates. Bidding Understand client and technical briefs. Assess manufacturing processes and materials. Knowledge of internal and subcontracted pricing models. Maintain up‑to‑date market pricing for materials and services. Build and maintain a library of past project costs for forecasting. Collaboration with other departments to support bids. Prepare realistic estimates for Nuclear, ROM, Preliminary, and Final Bid. Apply TAIT project process phases and sub‑phases. Project Performance Gain buy‑in from departments to ensure delivery on budget. Interface with project management, design, studio, finance, and operations. Support cost‑to‑complete, scope changes, extras, and snags. Involve fabrication, machining, and integration when applicable. Review operational trends (cycle times, scheduling, overruns). Project Review Assist in financial review of projects. Attend wash‑up meetings to analyze performance vs estimate. Contribute to lessons learned and accuracy improvement. Suggest tool, system, and process enhancements. Organizational Relationships & Participation Develop relationships with Project Performance and Operations groups. Attend global and regional “All Hands” and similar meetings. Maintain administrative tasks (time clocking, expense reports). Continuous Improvements Identify minor and major improvement opportunities. Participate in departmental and organizational initiatives. Ensure lessons learned discussions for all significant projects. Education and Growth Seek opportunities to build new skills and improve existing ones. Participate in supplied learning opportunities. Position Requirements Proven experience in controls, construction, estimation, bidding, or proposal building. Experience with ERP software. Strong proficiency with numbers and mathematics. Excellent verbal and written communication. Ability to work in a fast‑paced, detail‑oriented environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Bachelor’s degree in any field.
