Staff Nurse Womens Health

The women's department is looking to recruit a nurse to work in the women's health clinic. The department is a busy, well‑renowned department with good support from consultants, nurse specialists and administration staff. Responsibilities Provide day‑to‑day nursing support to the clinic, including assistance in procedures and offering support and reassurance to patients. Assess care needs, develop and implement programmes of care, and evaluate outcomes within women's health outpatients. Carry out nursing care to the highest standard according to Trust policies, practices, clinical guidelines and the NMC Code of Conduct. Administer medications on an as‑needed basis with a thorough understanding of individual medicines, legislation, storage and prescription requirements. Assist with medical procedures such as biopsies, and care patients following sedation or local anaesthesia. Demonstrate procedures to qualified and unqualified staff and supervise unqualified members of the team. Participate in a preceptorship programme and achieve required competencies. Act as an effective role model for student nurses and HCAs. Engage in further knowledge and skills development in women's health and colposcopy, completing the women's health and screening course. Ensure compliance with Safeguarding policies: familiarise with London Child Protection Procedures, London Multi‑Agency Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults Pan‑London Procedures, local protocols, appropriate contact numbers and reporting lines, required training and supervision, and professional boundaries and codes of conduct. Qualifications & Skills Interest in women's health nursing. Aware of the procedures and protocols surrounding the care and treatment of women’s health patients. Commitment to professional accountability and adherence to the NMC Code of Conduct. Experience or willingness to assist with medical procedures and post‑procedural care.
