Working days Monday to Saturday for elective theatres with 24hr cover for anaesthetic support.We require enthusiastic and flexible Band 5's Theatre Practitioners to join our team in theatres at County Hospital. Previous experience in theatres,( e.g. Orthopaedics, Vascular, Gynae and Urology), would be an advantage but not essential. A genuine interest in operating theatres and surgery required. You will need to be a team player with good communication skills and an ability to adapt to new situations with a strong focus on providing excellent quality patient care within the Theatre environment.Previous applicants need not apply. Teams interviews will not be given for this post. The post will predominantly be based in the Theatre Department at the County Hospital including the modular unit and the ambulatory unit, however there may be a requirement to work in other clinical areas of the Trust including the Royal Stoke Hospital.Main duties includeThe assessment of patient needs the development of programs of care and for the implementation and evaluation of these programsCarry out all relevant forms of careProvide skilled assistance within the Operating Department environment and to continue to develop enhanced surgical or anaesthetic or recovery skills related to the specialty, commensurate with your level of competenceSupervise and educate junior colleaguesTo act as a role model to students and Clinical Support WorkersTo take charge of a specific theatre when rostered and assessed to be competentTo present a positive, professional image of the organization and the theatre teamUniversity Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust is one of the largest and most modern in the country.
