The department is in an exciting position, having grown by over 30% over the last four years to circa 100 academic staff, with a student population of over 1100 undergraduates, 420 postgraduates and 200 PhD students.Research in the department covers a broad range of sub-disciplines of Computer Science considering fundamental scientific questions, as well as the practical challenges and opportunities we face in an increasingly complex digital society. Our intersecting lattice-like structure of groups and hubs in Informatics provides a robust framework which supports the Department’s commitment to research of the highest scientific quality, and the drive to increase the external impact of our research.Housed in the iconic Bush House, this is a brilliant opportunity to lead a Department with a reputation for excellence. With our AI+ initiative accelerating AI activity across the University, and King’s Interdisciplinary Science growing our presence across the sciences, the Department of Informatics is well positioned to be at the heart of King’s College London’s key agendas in the coming years.Working closely with the Executive Dean and Faculty Leadership Team, the postholder will be expected to build wide and meaningful interdisciplinary research collaborations across the Faculty and King’s, ensure excellence and innovation in education, provide supportive direction for academic and professional services staff, and contribute to the overall strategic aims of the Faculty.The successful candidate will have a substantial track record in research, teaching and professional achievement within an Informatics or Computer Science discipline, and evidence an aptitude and motivation towards inclusive leadership. #J-18808-Ljbffr
