Thats where youd come in.As Fleet Planner youd be the link between our Engineering team Control and TrainCare Centres making sure plans arent just created but achieved. From balancing resources to resolving challenges youd help keep trains where they belong on the tracks not in the depot.What youll be doingLeading daily planning and production meetings to keep schedules on track and resources maximised.Working hand in hand with Control TrainCare Centres and Outstations so that failed units are quickly returned to service.Monitoring unit mileages and ensuring accurate records are kept across systems.Coordinating priorities and troubleshooting issues always with safety and smooth operations front of mind.About youPlanning problem-solving and keeping the bigger picture in focus thats three things youll bring. Youll also need :Engineering qualifications (HNC / HND or equivalent experience).Knowledge of railway vehicles heavy industrial engineering or depot / plant operations.Familiarity with railway operating rules and fleet maintenance practices.The ability to stay calm and make good decisions under pressure.A collaborative mindset because this is a role where teamwork makes the real difference.Whats in it for youAt Northern we dont just value our people - we go the extra mile to support them.
