Duty Nurse Co-ordinator (DNC) The closing date is 16 December 2025 The Duty Nurse Co-ordinator (DNC) will be based at Cross Lane Hospital in Scarborough and also cover Springwood Unit at Malton hospital. This role would include cover for two acute ADULT inpatient wards, two MHSOP inpatient wards, the local Crisis Team and the Section 136 suite. The post will require predominantly night shift working, although there will be periods of time where day shifts will be allocated. Candidates must have 18 months post qualifying experience including sign off of appropriate preceptorship or competency framework at the time of applying. Main duties of the job Demonstrate a high level of decision-making skills and the ability to seek collective support from colleagues where required. Professional accountability for the standards of patient care across the sites, in collaboration with the nurse in charge. As senior clinician on site, to be responsible for the safe delivery of care in collaboration with the teams. Responsive to incidents, staffing issues, bed pressures and unplanned care needs as required to deliver safe care and escalate any incidents to on call system as required. Provide leadership support, day to day supervision, clinical advice and clinical supervision. To be committed to and take a lead role in activities integral to the Trust's Quality Improvement Scheme. Person Specification Qualifications Current professional registration with NMC in relevant area Post grad diploma or willing to work towards within 2 years Recognised Practice Supervisor and/or Practice Assessor, clinical educator or equivalent. Must be achieved in 6 months. Post-graduate qualification in a relevant area Experience Minimum of 2 years clinical experience at band 6 (or equivalent of Band 6) or above working with people with mental ill health, Autism, or Learning Disability in a care environment. Including Understanding of relevant legislation (e.g. Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act) Clinical Risk Assessment and Management and its application in practice. Detailed understanding of Safeguarding and its application in practice Demonstrable knowledge to post-graduate level of evidence-based practice in caring for patients in the designated field Evidence of Continuing Professional Development. Clinical Supervisor Knowledge Understanding of relevant legislation (MHA/MCA) Knowledge of quality improvement activities Knowledge of medicines management, including administration of injections Disclosure and Barring Service Check This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions. £47,810 to £54,710 a year pro rata per annum #J-18808-Ljbffr
