However, the actual time you spend and where you spend it will vary by role or assignment, including up to 5 days per week on a client site.QualificationsWe are hiring consultants with relevant professional experience in either a consulting role or in the energy industry who are natural problem-solvers and constantly curious. Attributes that we are looking for include:Capability-specific skillsDemonstrable experience in at least one of the following capabilities:Business strategies for regulated utilities, especially electricity networks and water companies and/orOffshore wind auction bidding strategies (e.g. for AR7) and/orStrategies for hydrogen markets, including use cases and commercial modelsEconomics:Economic regulation of utilities, including outputs & incentives, cost benchmarking and cost of capital and/or Power market design, including wholesale energy markets, capacity markets and ancillary service markets and/orRevenue support mechanisms for energy infrastructure such as CfDs, RAB models and cap & floor arrangementsFinancial modelling for the energy and utilities sector, including particularly for investment valuation and price control financial modellingStrong technical skills in the development and application of power market forecasting models (specifically in PLEXOS software) and/orStrong technical skills and proficiency in offshore wind auction modellingCore skills:Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to simplify and present technical complexity in an accessible wayThe ability to balance strategic, big picture, problem solving with detailed analysisThe ability to apply sound logic, backed up with appropriate analysis, to support decision-making and recommendationsProactive, collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skillsAbility to work in multi-disciplinary teams to deliver tangible outcomesOur consultants are expected to be hands-on, working together with our clients to bring energy, direction and expertise to help them solve their most pressing strategic challenges.
