The Vacancy: Health & Safety Coordinator Ecologia, part of the RSK Group, is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Coordinator to join our growing team based in Sittingbourne, UK. About the Role The role is based in our Sittingbourne head office with frequent paid travel to regional offices and project sites; a full clean driving license is essential. Candidates may need to work away from home subject to business and project needs, with travel throughout the UK. Training will be provided to support your professional growth, inclusive of business and operational support elements. Future opportunities exist to support business across our Pod of UK Companies in terms of Business Support and SHEQ advisory under the guidance of a line manager. Responsibilities Champion best-in-class standards across the company and respective management systems. Assist in the continual improvement of management systems and subsequent SHEQ arrangements across all operations, including project sites. Monitor and report on H&S performance across premises and project operations, including frequent site SHE inspections and maintaining performance reports against project and company KPIs. Deliver company inductions, in-person and virtual training sessions, toolbox talks, premises SHE meetings, etc. Monitor and assist audits of both premises and project operations; internal and external certification audits. Report on SHEQ performance for operations, office and field-based activities, inclusive of upward reporting to the group database. Assist the regional administration team with the maintenance of the supplier management system, including supplier reviews, onboarding, inspections and performance reporting on a periodic basis. Assist the regional administration team in maintaining the digital training management systems for all company personnel, ensuring essential training requirements for projects are identified and delivered routinely. Assist with the implementation of divisional and group SHEQ initiatives, and remediation & response across the pod of companies under line manager guidance. Assist with the creation of SHEQ campaigns, lessons learned, bulletins, etc., inclusive of periodic communications as necessary. Provide support to all staff on SHEQ and operational matters. The role is intended to evolve across multiple companies in our UK operations, subject to business growth, training and competence progression; reviewed periodically against a professional development plan. Qualifications / Experience Required 1‑3 years’ experience and qualification in health and safety and/or occupational hygiene; similar qualifications or experience will be considered with professional development support. Able to work independently and as part of a team. Self‑motivated, with diligence, integrity, and ambition. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities. Strong written and verbal communication essential to the role. Computer literate and skilled with Microsoft Office applications, in particular Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio; training in all business systems will be provided. Must hold a full UK drivers’ licence. Additional qualifications/memberships in Business Administration, Environment, Health, Safety and Quality an advantage. Training in all aspects of the role will be provided as necessary for the job role and competence needs to facilitate professional development. Salary & Benefits Salary up to £32,000 depending on experience. Contributory pension scheme.
