Job Description We support you to settle into your new location, ensuring you are familiar with the team and have a warm welcome from day 1. A member of our Apprentice team at each site helps you progress, protects your study time and provides access to digital learning and opportunities to get involved with local community and STEM projects. Apprenticeship Structure Our Aerospace Electrical Technical Support Apprenticeship is suited for those interested in the theoretical side of engineering – planning, scheduling, design, development and test of electrical engineering components in a helicopter context. Students experience a number of placements across the Engineering department, with the ultimate aim of moving into a final placement area based on business requirements and the skills displayed during the apprenticeship. Departmental Areas Electrical Design – learn and carry out 3D design of electrical cabling/looming to meet aircraft airframe specifications. Electro‑magnetic Environmental Effects – gain an understanding and participate in clearing aircraft from an electro‑magnetic capability perspective. Manufacturing Engineering – work closely with the aircraft production line, producing electrical work instructions for the manufacture of aircraft on the build lines. Electrical Manufacturing Centre – involved in planning loom manufacture, designing form boards, manufacturing looms and continuity testing. Avionics – run test schedules for testing of aircraft line‑replaceable units (LRUs), electrical systems and software on specific test beds. What You Will Do Grow your knowledge of an engineering business. Develop practical skills in engineering and understand key processes and technologies. Support early‑careers activities – work as a STEM ambassador in schools, colleges and universities. Starting Salary £17,850 Qualifications 5 GCSEs at a minimum of a C/4, including GCSE Maths at a minimum of a B/5. These grades are non‑negotiable. Security Clearance This role is subject to pre‑employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). Additional personnel security controls (National Security Vetting – NSV) may apply, including eligibility for The Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV).
