Job Title: MRI RadiographerPosition: MRI Radiographer at Barts Health NHS TrustWe are looking for an MRI Band 7 HCPC registered Radiographer to join our MRI team at the RLH. As part of our project to correctly establish our department and meet the capacity demands, we have an exciting post for a band 7 MRI radiographer based at RLH. The post holder together with the other Band 7s in the department will help provide stability to the MRI team, offer the clinical expertise and experience needed in the team.This post gives you the opportunity to use your clinical expertise, knowledge and skills in MRI to offer stability to the team at RLH. Applications are welcome from staff with accredited post graduate training in MRI and those who are working in MRI as senior radiographers for at least 2 years. The successful candidates will need to demonstrate post graduate experience in MRI. The ability to train and engage radiographers in MRI will be essential, as will the review and implementation of new scanning protocols in conjunction with Radiologists and ensuring all staff are aware of the new studies/procedures. A current awareness of MRI safety especially with devices and implants. They should also have excellent organisational skills, be able to foster good working relationships with internal and external clients, be self‑motivated and able to motivate others within the team.The post‑holder will participate in the effective and safe running of the MRI department and will be able to perform a wide range of specialist MRI scans in the extended hours 7‑day service. The post holder will offer supervision to band 6 radiographers, imaging assistants, students, and visitors to the MRI department. The post holder will ensure patient flow in the trust by actively managing the flow of emergency and in‑patients to ensure same day scanning. Furthermore, they will be expected to engage in prompt protocoling, checking of conditional devices, booking of sedated and GA patients, liaison with radiologists and other clinicians to actively unblock barriers to scanning. The post holder will be key in ensuring the delivery of high‑quality patient care and experience and will be enabled to deal with and diffuse potential complaints to the patient and carers’ satisfaction.
