Then look no further… Control & Instrumentation (C&I) EngineerSalary/Hourly Rate: £44,041 - £66,467 per annumHours: 40 hours per week, 07:30 to 16:00Location & Postcode: EnviRecover, DY10 4JD As a Control & Instrumentation (C&I) Engineer at FCC Environment, you will be responsible for ensuring that plant instrumentation and systems are maintained in accordance with the O&M manual, ensuring calibration and compliance with statutory standards, and leading a team of C&I Technicians. You will plan and execute scheduled maintenance outages, respond to unscheduled breakdowns, manage budgets, and deliver upgrades and new installation projects in a challenging EfW facility environment. This vacancy is for a full-time position, working 5 days per week. Ensuring all Controls and Instrumentation are correctly operated, maintained, tested, and calibrated to statutory requirements. Managing and developing a team of C&I Technicians. Using site Distributed Control Systems (DCS) to enable defect interrogation, rectification, efficient plant control and enable simulations or forces where required. Using site Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS) and working closely with the Environmental Department to ensure adherence to site and statutory obligations. Planning & overseeing maintenance, calibration, and testing contracts for specialist equipment (CEMS, DCS, Water Treatment, Security, CCTV, Industrial Control Systems, etc.). Supporting the Maintenance Manager with audits, procurement, and compliance. Developing obsolescence plans for control systems and instrumentation. Supporting cyber security, software baselining, and back-ups. Providing emergency repair services and supporting other engineering teams as required. Investigating faults and ensuring timely rectification. Completing training and occasional travel to other sites. What are we looking for? Qualified Controls & Instrumentation Engineer (minimum Higher National Certificate) At least five years’ relevant post‑qualification experience Broad experience of process control systems Experience with, and knowledge of, Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS) and Distributed Control Systems (DCS) Experience managing a team and multiple contractors/maintenance contracts Ideally, from a power station, process plant, or similar background Excellent problem‑solving skills and self‑discipline/ability to work independently Satisfactory completion of relevant Competency Management System modules and all other required training About Us We are FCC Environment, one of the UK’s leading waste and resource management companies.
