Overview Electrical Project Engineer - High Voltage (HV) — Location: Glasgow Due to ongoing success and growth in the renewable energy sector, our client, an employee-owned high voltage electrical engineering company specialising in electrical power infrastructure, grid connections and renewable energy generation, is looking to hire an Electrical Engineer. As an Electrical Engineer you will be responsible for managing the technical electrical design interfaces, technical procurement and production of quality processes across a diverse range of electrical HV projects in line with business strategy. Responsibilities Supporting the Project Engineer and Senior Project Engineer with the project technical electrical deliverables Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers on design, installation, and commissioning. Manage the procurement process with the Procurement Manager, obtaining competitive tenders from the supply chain and supporting the Procurement Manager with technical submissions and queries. Attend manufacturers factory acceptance tests when required Review and compile safe systems of work for operational tasks in line with Approved Procedures and HV Safety Rules Producing Non-Conformance Reports on technical deviations Submit project requirements, technical information, programme and scope of works to the Commissioning Manager to manage the commissioning process Option to undertake HV switching operations, work towards authorisation under the Company's HV rules and develop skills to become an Authorised Person (AP) or Senior Authorised Person (SAP) Uphold a professional image, contribute to business' success, and proactively improve services and efficiency Embrace and demonstrate the Company's 5 core Principles of: Priority No.1 - Health, Safety and Well-being, Professionalism, Pride, Partnership and Proactive Electrical Engineer Candidate Specification Degree, HND in Electrical Engineering or similar field, or equivalent Minimum of 3 years' relevant experience of Electrical Engineering within the High Voltage renewables or utilities industries Experience with supporting technical electrical engineering projects within the High Voltage renewables or utilities industries Proven ability of good communication and influence at all levels Capable of working effectively whilst under pressure Adept at assessing and identifying compliance shortfalls or engineering opportunities within designs Strong organisational, time management, IT (MS Office), and report writing skills, with excellent spoken and written English Ability to clearly communicate technical and commercial information, negotiate effectively, and contribute to a dynamic team Adaptable, resilient, proactive, willing to travel across the UK with occasional overnight stays, and holds a full UK driving licence Right to Work within the UK without limitation Electrical Engineer Benefits Salary: £50,000 to £70,000 per annum dependent on skills and experience plus fantastic package including : Company profit share scheme as a partner in the business Company contributory pension scheme Car allowance or company vehicle Private health insurance and healthcare cashback plan 25 days annual holiday plus paid public holidays Flexible working arrangements Great training and development opportunities To apply for this fantastic opportunity please get in touch for immediate consideration and full details.
