Band 3 Contracts/Training Administrative Assistant (Clinical Engineering) Location: Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading. Job Ref: 193-7640177PCG • Contract: Permanent • Hours: Full time – 37.5 hours per week. Salary: £24,937 - £26,598 per annum (Yearly). Closing date: 14/12/2025 23:59. Job Overview The Clinical Engineering Department at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a highly organised, motivated and enthusiastic Administrative Assistant to support the Contracts Manager, Medical Devices Training Coordinator and the wider Clinical Engineering Team. The post holder will work largely unsupervised, communicating effectively with multidisciplinary teams and a range of internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities Undertake general office duties, including answering queries, taking messages and flagging urgent matters. Maintain the departmental database (e‑Quip) by inputting, cleansing, retrieving and auditing data for service/maintenance contracts. Arrange meetings for the Senior Management Team and take Minutes of Meetings. Assist with the production of documents and reports. Support other administrative roles and cover holiday/absence periods as required. Ensure all work adheres to the Department’s Quality Management System (QMS). Take responsibility for personal development to meet the role and departmental needs. Qualifications and Experience Previous relevant experience within an administrative role. Experience working in a busy hospital environment. Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and database systems for data entry/entry/retrieval. NVQ in Business Administration or equivalent practical experience. Excellent level of numeracy and literacy (GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths). Desirable: Customer service experience; experience working in a Clinical Engineering Department. Staff Benefits Flexible working opportunities.
