Job Overview Amazon is seeking a Military & Veterans RME Mechatronics Apprentice to join our workforce in the North East of the UK on a fixed‑term contract starting September 2026. This apprenticeship focuses on developing a multi‑skilled maintenance technician with expertise in both electrical and mechanical systems. Key Responsibilities Conduct proactive and preventative maintenance on complex automated equipment. Perform reactive repairs and fault diagnosis in a live distribution warehouse. Use the latest tools and equipment to maximise effectiveness. Make modifications and upgrades to existing machinery. Uphold health and safety policies and practices. Contribute to continuous improvement projects. Basic Qualifications UK national or eligible non‑UK national with right to work in the UK; 18 years or older by September 2026. Minimum 3 GCSEs at grades 9‑4/A‑C in Maths, English, and a science/technology subject. Not currently registered for a UK government‑funded course ending August 2026 or later. No prior qualification in a similar subject at the same or higher level. Resident in the UK for the entire duration of the programme. Preferred Qualifications 5 GCSEs at grades 9‑4/A‑C in Maths, English and a science/technology subject. Progressing towards or completed a T‑Level in an engineering subject or A‑Levels with a bias towards science & technology. Important Information The apprenticeship is a 36‑48 month fixed‑term contract. The candidate must provide proof of qualifications by 17 July 2026.
