The Role: We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our Oncology Inpatient team within the Duchess of Devonshire Wing. This is an opportunity to provide high-quality, patient-centred care within one of the UK's most respected independent hospitals. As a Band 5 Staff Nurse, you will care for adult oncology inpatients receiving a range of treatments including chemotherapy, immunotherapy and palliative care. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, individualised care that meets the complex needs of patients and their families. Key Responsibilities Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to patients undergoing cancer treatment Monitor and manage treatment‑related symptoms and side effects Contribute to the assessment, planning and evaluation of care plans Work under supervision of SACT‑trained nurses and progress towards achieving SACT competency Support patients and families with empathy, professionalism and clear communication Maintain the highest standards of infection prevention and control Participate in audits, reflective practice, and quality improvement initiatives Skills and Experience Registered Nurse (Adult) with current NMC registration Previous experience within an acute oncology or surgical ward environment is essential Competent in IV administration or willingness to complete training Excellent communication and teamwork skills A strong interest in oncology and commitment to continued learning and professional development We offer a range of benefits including flexible working and great career opportunities.
