The Role:

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our Oncology Inpatient team within the Duchess of Devonshire Wing. This is an opportunity to provide high-quality, patient-centred care within one of the UK's most respected independent hospitals.

As a Band 5 Staff Nurse, you will care for adult oncology inpatients receiving a range of treatments including chemotherapy, immunotherapy and palliative care. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, individualised care that meets the complex needs of patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to patients undergoing cancer treatment
  • Monitor and manage treatment-related symptoms and side effects
  • Contribute to the assessment, planning and evaluation of care plans
  • Work under supervision of SACT-trained nurses and progress towards achieving SACT competency
  • Support patients and families with empathy, professionalism and clear communication
  • Maintain the highest standards of infection prevention and control
  • Participate in audits, reflective practice, and quality improvement initiatives

Skills and Experience

  • Registered Nurse (Adult) with current NMC registration
  • Previous experience within an acute oncology or surgical ward environment is essential
  • Competent in IV administration or willingness to complete training
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A strong interest in oncology and commitment to continued learning and professional development
