Vacancy: Locum Childcare Solicitor – London Local Authority – Remote working considered – Full Time Venn Group is working in partnership with a forward-thinking and dedicated London Local Authority in their search for a Locum Childcare Solicitor for an initial 3 month assignment. Details Job Title: Childcare Solicitor Hourly Rate: Negotiable depending upon experience Length of Contract: 3 months initially, with high possibility for further extension Working Pattern: Full time – 36 hours Location: London Local Authority Office Attendance: Weekly attendance preferred – fully remote applicants considered Duties and Responsibilities Supporting the Principal and Head of Legal, responsibilities will include : Providing specialist legal advice and guidance on childcare law to Members, Officers, and partner agencies Managing a diverse caseload of routine and complex matters relating to children and young people Drafting and preparing legal documents, court submissions, and supporting materials for hearings Conducting legal research and keep the Council informed of legislative and case law developments Supporting senior colleagues on significant or politically sensitive cases within the childcare and safeguarding remit Working collaboratively across departments to ensure timely, robust, and compliant decision-making Preferred Experience Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of CILEx entitled to practise in England and Wales Proven experience advising on local authority duties and powers relating to children and young adults Strong knowledge of childcare law, associated legislation, and case law Awareness of local government processes and decision-making frameworks (desirable) Excellent communication, drafting, and negotiation skills Ability to work with tact and professionalism on sensitive issues Comfortable operating within a digital and agile working environment #J-18808-Ljbffr
