Base pay range Location: City of London and Remote Salary: £36,000 – £42,000 per annum (depending on experience) plus discretionary yearly bonus Additional Benefits: 7.5% pension contribution, £2,500 annual travel allowance, hybrid working, life and income protection insurance, Wellness Allowance Phoenix51 is delighted to be partnering with the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) to recruit a Business Development Executive. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys generating opportunities, building networks and driving commercial outcomes. You’ll play a central part in expanding CISI’s presence across the financial services sector, increasing membership and strengthening relationships with key organisations in the UK and internationally. Key Responsibilities Lead Generation & Membership Growth Proactively identify and engage prospective members, training partners and corporate clients through targeted outreach, networking and strategic campaigns. Build and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities, converting prospects into active CISI members. Work alongside Marketing and Events teams to design initiatives that reach new audiences and showcase CISI’s value proposition. Support the growth of CISI membership across priority markets, including universities, financial institutions and professional training providers. Client Engagement & Account Development Maintain relationships with key member firms, ensuring they are aware of new developments and CISI offerings. Deliver tailored presentations that promote CISI qualifications, membership pathways and wider benefits. Identify opportunities to expand engagement within existing firms, contributing directly to membership targets. Track and report on client activity, producing insights to inform BD strategy and highlight growth potential. Internal Collaboration & Insight Gathering Work closely with the Customer Support Centre and account managers to gather intelligence on product usage, member feedback and emerging client needs. Share updates across internal teams to support coordinated outreach and enhance member satisfaction. Contribute to broader client relationship activities including regional committees, forums and member events. Required Skills and Experience Experience in business development, sales, membership growth or a client-facing role. Background in the financial services sector is desirable (professionally or academically). Confident approach to outreach and presenting to stakeholders at various levels. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to adapt to different audiences. Excellent organisation and time management, with the ability to manage a varied pipeline. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and database systems. High attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines. 7.5% company pension contribution into a personal pension (plus 1.5% employee contribution via salary exchange). Life insurance and income protection insurance. Wellness Allowance of up to £30 per month. 28 days’ annual leave (including CISI closure between Christmas and New Year) plus UK bank holidays. £2,500 London travel allowance per annum. Hybrid working: 4 days per week in the office during probation, then 2–3 days per week thereafter, with additional travel as required.
