Job Summary As a Finance Business Partner, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial performance of our clinical services. In this senior position, you will act as the finance lead for a portfolio of clinical areas, working in close collaboration with clinical and operational leadership teams. You will use your financial expertise and insightful analysis to support and challenge day‑to‑day decision making, drive positive outcomes, and ensure the best possible use of resources across our services. The successful candidate will also be a key member of the Trust's Finance Department, contributing actively to the delivery of its overall objectives and supporting the continual improvement of financial performance across the organisation. You will bring exceptional organisational and communication skills, with the confidence to prioritise a busy workload and work flexibly to meet tight and competing deadlines. Candidate must be a CCAB qualified accountant and have substantial relevant experience working in a financial management environment. Exposure to finance within the NHS would also be advantageous. Main duties of the job Act as financial lead to the MSK unit, supporting the Head of Finance in providing a comprehensive financial and performance management service. Provide business‑focused advice, develop stakeholder relationships, and identify cost savings and productivity opportunities. Lead a team and make a difference to clinical services and ultimately the patient. Responsible for recruitment, training, performance and disciplinary issues of the staff accountable to the role. Coordinate the team to ensure smooth delivery of month‑end processes, reporting and support Trust‑wide projects and initiatives. Ensure provision of accurate financial information to inform Delivery Unit level decision‑making forums, including formal reports and presentations linking and interpreting financial, activity and performance management information. Develop strong relationships with clinicians and managers, maintaining a culture of shared responsibility for financial issues. Provide professional expert knowledge and guidance, ensuring that the management team is fully abreast of current NHS and Trust developments. Present complex financial information clearly and persuasively. Support the Management Team in developing a medium‑term financial strategy and plan for the Service Area, a medium‑term Cost Efficiency Programme, capacity plans linked to physical, human and financial resources, and a Delivery Unit Business Plan. Support the Head of Financial Management in continued engagement and use of Service Line Reporting and Patient Level Costing Information. Support development and training programme for senior managers and clinicians in the Services Area to improve SLR, financial, business management and commercial awareness.
