Job summary County Durham & Darlington NHS Foundation Trust invite applications for the position of Theatre Practitioner (scrub) at Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. Both substantive and bank posts are available. Main duties and responsibilities Participate in the monitoring of standards of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care. Provide direct patient care, acting as an expert and role model across all clinical specialities. Audit and monitor accurate documentation in accordance with Trust policy, NMC and HPC guidelines. Facilitate an emergency service covering all specialties during elective and non‑elective periods. Ensure safe drug administration in line with Trust Policy and regulatory guidelines. Carry out procedures and techniques in accordance with local competencies and agreed policies. Protect patients' rights, dignity and confidentiality at all times. Advocate for patients in all aspects of care, treatment and welfare. Maintain departmental cleanliness and support team members in operating suite set‑up and cleaning. Scrub experience. Registered with the NMC or HCPC. Existing experience as a scrub practitioner. Excellent interpersonal skills. Person Specification – Desirable Experience as a Registered Nurse or ODP within the operating theatre. Teaching and assessment qualifications or willingness to work towards them. Diploma or degree relevant to specialty or willingness to pursue. Experience in scrub or anaesthetic recovery. Computer skills and specific practice area skills. Recruitment and selection skills. Disclosure and Barring Service Check This post requires a DBS check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975. Certificate of Sponsorship Applications for skilled worker sponsorship are welcome and will be considered with all other applications.
