Job Summary County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for the position of Theatre Anaesthetic Practitioner at the University Hospital Of North Durham and Darlington Memorial Hospital. Main Duties and Responsibilities Participate in monitoring standards of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care. Provide direct care to patients, acting as a role model. Audit and maintain accurate documentation in accordance with Trust policy, NMC and HPC guidelines. Facilitate an emergency service covering all specialties during elective and non‑elective periods. Ensure safe administration of drugs in accordance with Trust policy, NMC and HPC guidelines. Carry out procedures and techniques in accordance with local competencies and agreed policies and standards. Safeguard patient rights, dignity and confidentiality at all times. Act as patient advocate on all matters relating to care, treatment and welfare. Check departmental cleanliness and assist with preparation, clearing and cleaning of operating suite and equipment. About the Trust We are a foundation trust delivering hospital services from two acute sites, a centre for planned care, and many community hospitals and settings. We particularly welcome applications from disabled and Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic candidates. Qualifications and Experience Essential Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner. Registered with the NMC or HCPC. Existing experience as an Anaesthetic/Recovery practitioner. Excellent interpersonal skills. Desirable Experience as an ODP within the operating theatre. Teaching and assessing qualification or willingness to work towards. Diploma or degree or willingness to work towards or relevant practical experience within department specialties. Scrub or Anaesthetic recovery experience. Computer skills; specific skills relevant to area of practice; recruitment and selection skills.
