The nuclear medicine department at Barts Health NHS Trust is recruiting Nuclear Medicine Technologists to work across its three NHS sites: St Bartholomew’s Hospital, Royal London Hospital, and Whipps Cross University Hospital. The department is equipped with 4 SPECT‑CT scanners, 1 gamma camera and a state‑of‑the‑art GE Discovery PET‑CT, and it runs extensive GFR, therapy, radiopharmacy and cardiac services. Of note, a new SPECT‑CT system has recently been installed at RLH and plans are underway to add another PET‑CT to support the expanding radionuclide therapy service. Successful candidates will receive support for career development, including educational opportunities and conference sponsorships. The role requires rotating between the three sites and occasional weekend work on a voluntary basis. Key responsibilities Perform nuclear medicine procedures across multiple hospital sites. Operate and maintain SPECT‑CT, PET‑CT and gamma camera equipment. Collaborate with Medical Physics, physicians and the radiopharmacy team. Participate in audits, quality assurance and clinical projects. Provide training and mentorship to junior staff as needed. Qualifications & requirements Minimum 1 year of NHS experience. Eligible or currently undertaking a PgDip in Nuclear Medicine, BSc in Radiography/DCR, or equivalent qualification in Nuclear Medicine Technology. Demonstrated ability to develop own skills and to support the learning of others. Strong organisational and prioritisation skills. Capacity to work under pressure and rotate across three hospitals. There will occasionally be requirement to work on Saturdays and Sundays on a rotational basis, which is voluntary. Professional development is encouraged, and you will be invited to participate in projects and audits.
