Responsibilities As a Senior Quantity Surveyor you’ll take full commercial responsibility for live and upcoming development sites across the Midlands. You will manage construction costs from initial budgeting through to final accounts, covering tendering, subcontractor appointments, monthly valuations, cost reporting and financial updates. You will work hand‑in‑hand with the Technical, Construction and wider project teams to maintain tight cost control and ensure timely delivery at every stage. You will build and sustain strong, collaborative relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve best value and maintain strong supply chain performance. Requirements Solid, hands‑on experience in the construction industry – experience with a housebuilder or main contractor is essential. You will have experience in cost control, tendering and reporting, with an understanding of build sequencing and trade interaction. A good grasp of infrastructure and groundworks is beneficial, as is interest in early‑stage cost planning and setting budgets for new schemes. Strong communication, influencing and negotiation skills are vital. You must be comfortable managing multiple tasks and projects at once in an experienced commercial team. MRICS qualification or progress toward it is advantageous. Strong organisational skills, diary management, ability to meet deadlines. We also require a willingness to learn and drive the right culture. Working Arrangements You will be required to attend our office based in Leeds one day per week. Remaining days will be working from home, regional office or site visits which may be in Northamptonshire, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire or Birmingham.
