Undertake comprehensive assessment of patients and devise and deliver individual or group treatment programmes. Main duties of the job Perform advanced physiotherapeutic assessments and manage patients with complex or chronic presentations, planning and delivering high quality treatment programmes. Hold responsibility for own caseload as an autonomous practitioner, working without direct supervision; access to advice and support from a senior physiotherapist is available if required. Be involved in audits, surveys and evidence‑based projects to further own and the team's clinical practice; make recommendations to the clinical leader and help implement associated changes. Supervise less experienced Rotational Physiotherapists, Therapy Support Workers and students working on the unit. Deputise for the Team Leader when necessary, taking responsibility for operational management of the team, allocating and organising work to meet service priorities. Support more junior staff and ensure high standards of clinical care. Represent the physiotherapy service at multidisciplinary team meetings, ward rounds, discharge planning and communications with patients and carers. Person Specification Essential Qualifications / Training Degree in Physiotherapy or Graduate Diploma in Physiotherapy (or equivalent) Valid HCPC Registration Experience Proven rotational experience as a Junior Physiotherapist, especially orthopaedics, respiratory, musculoskeletal, neurology Post‑Registration Education CPD portfolio with evidence of IST and reflective learning Evidence of postgraduate learning in clinical skills Knowledge Good knowledge of a range of orthopaedic conditions Able to present information, written and orally, in a clear and logical manner Understanding of clinical governance and its implications (e.g., quality, audit) Interests Demonstrate self‑confidence and maturity in work and other activities Committed to personal and team development Circumstances Must be able to take part in the on‑call rota Disclosure and Barring Service Check This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and a submission for Disclosure to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly CRB) is required to check for any previous criminal convictions.
