Mills & Reeve are looking to recruit a Regulatory Solicitor to join our leading Commercial team, as we continue to grow If you have a regulatory specialism, within a Commercial practice, then we would love to hear from you The role We are looking for a regulatory solicitor to join our leading national commercial team, to focus on advising our clients on regulatory issues. This will include regulatory issues under food, consumer protection, digital, e-commerce, anti-discrimination and advertising law. This role is ideal for someone who wishes to specialise in digital, product regulation, labelling and advertising. The work is mainly advisory but includes some regulatory investigations. The practice has seen significant growth over the last years and Mills & Reeve is building a team of lawyers dedicated to this area. We act for many household names and a lot of our work involves working with our international lawyers to provide multi-jurisdictional advice. The team currently has a particular focus on the food and beverage and technology sectors but is looking to expand outside these core sectors. This role can be based out of our Birmingham, Cambridge, Leeds, Manchester, Norwich or Oxford office. The person You will have 4+ years post qualification experience gained in a large regional, national or international firm. You will have excellent technical skills in regulatory law with a strong interest in the food and beverage, education and/or technology sectors. You will be a commercially-minded lawyer with an appetite for growing your own practice. The work is extremely varied and covers a wide-range of subject matters. The work involves analysing and applying regulation to a client's problem and devising practical solutions. We consider how a regulator may approach particular problems and provide risk-based, pragmatic advice. This includes dealing with regulatory investigations, ASA complaints and regulatory enforcement action. More broadly we advise on consumer and trading law and we help businesses who want to launch new products or enter new markets. This work is often international, and we advise businesses from overseas or coordinate multi-jurisdictional projects. Why should I apply?
