Job Summary Band 5 Staff nurse, Endoscopy Department 20 hours permanent. Are you looking for a new and exciting challenge? Endoscopy Nursing provides you with a varied role. Hours will be considered to give you a work life balance. We aim to provide a high standard of care to all our patients. We are very excited to have moved into our new purpose built Endoscopy unit in mid June 2025. Plus, we are keen to nurture and develop our staff. Many of our staff progress onto Nurse specialist roles or Trainee Nurse endoscopists. Endoscopy can provide this opportunity for you. We have a dedicated Clinical Educator to assist you in transition to Endoscopy and support your learning throughout. Dedicated quarterly training and wellbeing days are protected for all our nursing team. Weekends and bank holidays are on a rota basis. Main duties of the job We are a dynamic team and training and development is high on our agenda on the unit. As well as diagnostic procedures we specialise in GI Bleeding emergency cases daily, ERCP and Respiratory lists twice weekly. The Trust will provide a twelve month preceptorship period for all newly registered healthcare professionals. Person Specification Essential Registered nurse with active registration. Relevant field of nursing. Clinical supervision. Budgetary awareness. Continuing professional development with portfolio. NMC code of professional conduct. Professional leadership within area of practice. Equality legislation and best practice. Developed communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work as a team member, without close supervision. Able to act as a clinical supervisor, mentor and preceptor. Able to demonstrate the compassionate values and behaviours needed for dignified care. Desirable Teaching qualification NST 307 or equivalent. ENB 906 endoscopy nursing or equivalent. Mentor to pre-registration nursing students. Role of the PCPI strategy. Endoscopy procedures. Audit and research in practice. IT skills. Project development skills.
