Full‑time band 5 position on a fixed‑term basis in the Paediatric Emergency Department. Role involves assessing, planning, delivering and evaluating nursing care. Supports the development of nursing practice and complies with local policies, guidelines and the NMC code of professional conduct. Main Duties Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate nursing care. Contribute to the development and evaluation of nursing practice within the department and ward area. Provide nursing care in accordance with local policies, procedures and guidelines. Working Pattern Fixed term – 8 months Part‑time – 8 months Compensation Pay scheme: Agenda for change Salary: £31,049 to £37,796 per annum pro rata Qualifications and Experience Registered Nurse child with active NMC registration or working towards. Student nurse or general nursing within the NHS or equivalent. Relevant post‑registration development or equivalent (desirable). PILS/ILS, TNCC or equivalent, EPALS/APLS, ALS, NILS (desirable). Emergency Care Paediatric Nursing, supporting students, budgetary awareness (desirable). Knowledge and Skills NMC code of professional conduct. Current nursing developments and national A&E issues. Knowledge of safeguarding. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work as a team member without close supervision. Ability to act as a mentor to HCAs and newly qualified nurses. Able to adapt to changing workload and meet deadlines. Personal Circumstances Motivation, enthusiasm, commitment to professional development. Maintain professional image/attitude at all times. Flexible approach to working patterns. Knowledge of trust values. Disclosures and Checks This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and requires a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
