Job Summary North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Clinical Support Worker for the Endoscopy CIC unit (Band 3, up to 37.5 hours). The Endoscopy Service is expected to increase in demand, and there are plans to expand the unit with additional rooms, improved patient care and updated facilities. This role works alongside Registered Nurses to prepare the environment and patients for procedures, ensuring quality care and patient comfort. Responsibilities Assist Registered Nurses in all aspects of endoscopy work, including patient preparation and support during procedures. Monitor vital signs and assist with procedure‑specific tasks such as cannulation and venepuncture. Readily apply Trust policies on patient safety, infection control and confidentiality. Help maintain a clean and well‑equipped environment, following proper decontamination procedures. Co‑operate with a multidisciplinary team to provide patient advocacy and improve patient experience. Skills & Knowledge Required Basic clinical duties, including vital sign monitoring, cannulation and venepuncture. Understanding of endoscopy equipment and decontamination processes. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Commitment to Trust policies and excellence in patient care. Numeracy and literacy level 2. Experience of health or social care, including clinical observations. Knowledge of safeguarding, GDPR and data protection legislation. Commitment to complete National Care Certificate within 12 weeks. Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and bank holidays. Currently working in a healthcare setting. Desirable Additional training for Clinical Support Workers. Familiarity with NHS and social care policies. Computer skills, especially electronic patient record use. Experience in the Trust previously. Keyboard skills, venepuncture experience. Promote equality, diversity and Trust values.
