The Role We are recruiting for a Finance Business Partner to join our Aspen Capital Markets team. You will provide analysis support and oversight of TPAs for transaction accounting and financial reporting assistance. Key Accountabilities Contributes to, monitors, and advises on the plan developments and changes in order to ensure relevancy, compliance, and optimal delivery Assists in the preparation and implementation of the operational team plans to ensure these are in line with wider business strategy and reflect key priorities Determines own work priorities and activities in line with agreed plans to ensure the achievement of the function’s objectives Manage a portfolio of products and be responsible for the timeliness and quality of the work of the team Execute and validate processing of funds up to the authority limits granted in the role (up to $300,000) Perform regular self‑audits and execute corrective actions Audit readiness and remediation Ensure quality in delivering client service by following through on requests in a timely manner, manage expectations for deliverables and reports, and identify issues Research and benchmark product data to industry data erform key technical reinsurance calculations and account reconciliations Maintain Sarbanes Oxley compliant financial controls and procedures applicable to ACP Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports and analysis in accordance with group and local deadlines Maintain compliance with statutory policies, procedures and regulations Assist with preparation of year end audited GAAP financial statements Involvement with internal and external audits as required Manage complex intercompany quota share arrangements including extensive interaction with the US and UK finance teams Act as a business partner to the ACP underwriting team Produce and distribute cession statements to all Capital Market reinsurers Assist in the development of management information and analysis of the Aspen Capital Partners group of companies Prepare finance memorandums related to accounting research with respect to Aspen Capital Partners group of companies Extensive involvement with business planning, collaborating with Group FP&A team, Segment finance teams and the ACP team Input to, and maintenance of and control of the general ledger for ACP Responsibility for managing the ACP budget and expense management process Support the ACP CFO in preparation of board reporting packs and associated commentary Knowledge, Skills and experience 4 years’ post‑qualification experience in a (re)insurance finance role Demonstrated Fund / ILS experience is preferred Experience with advanced reinsurance accounting principles of US GAAP Experience with SOX controls, reviews and documentation requirements Experience in strategic initiatives involving technological and software improvements Knowledge of General Ledger systems, preferably CODA Knowledge of ETC (extract/transform/load) tools such as Alteryx is preferred Internationally recognized professional designation (CA, ACA, CPA, CFA or equivalent) At Aspen we know that having a diverse and inclusive workforce is good for our people, good for our business and good for the environments in which we operate.
