The Council’s Planning Service is looking for a planning officer to help retain the quality of place and provide an efficient and effective planning service. Responsibilities Process planning, advertisement, listed building and other statutory applications; monitor development approvals and consents; provide development advice to agents, developers and landowners. Prepare and present the Council’s case at appeals, inquiries and hearings. Prepare delegated reports and reports for the Planning Committee. Contribute to the preparation of planning policies and strategies, and to the implementation of corporate and other service strategies. Plan enforcement and related duties. Liaise with other sections within the Council to provide information and assistance as required. Provide information and advice on planning matters to members of the general public, community and other organisations, elected members, developers, development agencies and other services. Qualifications Planning professional looking to take the next step in their career. Accredited planning qualification or a degree in a related built environment discipline.
