We have several research specialities and the Immunology Research Portfolio is looking for a Clinical Trials Assistant. It is a full time post (1.0 WTE), 2 year fixed term contract due to funding. This post will be based at SJUH, but may need to work across site.The post holder will contribute actively to the conduct, coordination, and delivery of the Immunology Research Portfolio. The main tasks are: Patient recruitment, venepuncture, data collection and data inputting. In addition of being responsible for ensuring that high standards of clinical care planning, delivery, safety, and patient satisfaction are to a very high standards, compliance with Trust policy, study protocol requirements, local and national guidance and legislation is required.If you are interested in the post, we would like to encourage you to contact the recruiting manager for an informal discussion.Expected Shortlisting Date05/01/2026Planned Interview Date16/01/2026Main duties of the jobWe are looking to recruit a proactive and self-motivated individual with a keen interest in research to work predominantly in the immunology team.The post holder will contribute actively to the conduct, coordination and delivery of the Immunology Portfolio, working alongside a dedicated team of Nurses and CTA's. The postholder will be expected to carry out tasks such as, approach and consent eligible patients, perform venepuncture and handle biological samples, other clinical assessments, data collection and inputting onto the relevant databases alongside maintenance of study documentation and site files.The successful applicant will be competent in venepuncture and have basic IT skills with a willingness to learn and develop. They will have excellent communication skills, and be a creative problem solver, who is comfortable working independently and as part of a team.The post holder will be required to work alongside industry partners, the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Clinical Research Network (CRN) Yorkshire and Humber (Y&H) and colleagues in neighbouring establishments, attending regional and national meetings as requiredThe post-holder will have the opportunity to develop their research skills through formal and experiential learning, supervision, mentoring and peer support.About usResearch is at the heart of our Trust.
