Position Overview The General Practitioner will play a vital role in providing comprehensive clinical care to our clients in both town‑based and remote clinics. This position requires adherence to regional best practice guidelines and professional standards while contributing to the continuous quality improvement of health services. In addition to delivering clinical services, the GP will support the training and development of health staff and trainees, ensuring a culturally safe environment that respects local beliefs and practices. The Rural Clinical School of WA supports rural communities to develop and sustain a locally trained and loyal medical workforce by placing penultimate and final year medical students across a network of 15 sites. Students gain valuable hands‑on experience and professional mentoring throughout the 12‑month programme. An opportunity exists with RCSWA that complements the clinical role at DAHS and offers additional FTE (up to 0.5FTE). Deliver world‑class innovative medical education and training to medical students and assist in the support of preceptors and host practitioners Commitment to be involved in research and/or evaluation relevant to improving rural health In consultation with local medical practitioners and agencies maintain and contribute to the development of local educational programs that meet the requirements of the RCSWA and take advantage of local opportunities and strengths Develop and coordinate the development of rural training pathways in local area of appointment and contribute to a statewide RCSWA approach Candidate Profile We are looking for a highly motivated General Practitioner who is dedicated to improving health outcomes in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities where you will be employed on a Part Time basis. Accredited with Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) or equivalent. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish effective stakeholder relationships. Knowledge of Medicare Benefits Schedule and the health issues affecting Aboriginal people in rural and remote areas. Current AHPRA Registration as a General Practitioner, along with a National Police Clearance and Working with Children’s Check. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to the philosophy of Aboriginal Community Control and possess the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary health team. Salary & Benefits The salary for this position is $284,625, along with additional benefits including a relocation allowance of up to $5,000 and an annual airfare benefit of $1,683 per annum pro rata.
