Role Overview:
We are looking for a compassionate and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with a range of special educational needs. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to help students with learning, emotional, and behavioural challenges access the curriculum and engage in a meaningful and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one or small group support for students with special educational needs (SEN), including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other learning difficulties.
Assist in the creation and implementation of individual learning plans (IEPs) and personalised learning strategies.
Support students in their social, emotional, and academic development, fostering independence and confidence.
Help to adapt teaching resources and activities to meet the specific needs of students.
Monitor and record students' progress, offering feedback and support to ensure they achieve their learning goals.
Support students during breaks, lunchtime, and extracurricular activities to ensure their safety and well-being.
Assist in managing behaviour using positive reinforcement techniques and help create a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere.
Work closely with teachers, SENCO, and other professionals to promote the overall development of the students.

Who We Are Looking For:
The ideal candidate for this role will have:

Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is desirable, but not essential.
Understanding of a range of SEN, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and learning disabilities.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
A patient, adaptable, and proactive approach to supporting students.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also using initiative when needed.
Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, are preferred but not essential.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
A DBS check will be required, or one in place.

Have the right to work in the UK.
Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
