About the role We have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Head of Healthcare to join our Healthcare team at HMP Brixton, a category C prison located in London. HMP Brixton is one of London’s oldest male prisons, with a capacity of 798 inmates. This role supports the Head of Healthcare and requires a clinical professional to manage daily operations and provide clinical supervision to the wider healthcare team. What you’ll be doing Provide evidence‑based care to patients, seeking and acting on feedback to put patient engagement at the centre of service delivery. Deliver day‑to‑day operational service delivery and manage data with integrity, providing timely reports to meet commissioner expectations. Provide non‑judgemental, compassionate care within the financial framework that is safe, high quality and in line with CQC requirements. This is achieved through adherence to policies and procedures and compliance with statutory responsibilities while driving excellence. Qualifications required: Degree or appropriate equivalent level of experience or clinical qualification. Experience as a clinical lead preferred.
