Job Overview City of London School for Girls is seeking an inspirational Academic Deputy Head, Curriculum and Innovation, to join the senior leadership team at an exciting time for the school. City of London School for Girls is an independent day school for pupils aged 11-18 situated in the heart of the Barbican. The Academic Deputy Head, Curriculum and Innovation, will embed a scholarly culture and academic excellence, nurturing the spirit of intellectual curiosity in its highly able students and teachers within a dynamic and supportive environment. This pivotal role will develop an innovative and strategic academic vision, introduce exciting new curricula and empower both staff and pupils to think expansively and act with purpose in a rapidly changing educational landscape and an expanding school. The successful candidate will be a passionate educationalist with significant experience of curriculum innovation, entrepreneurialism and leadership. They will have sympathy with the ethos and strategic priorities of the school, and a collaborative and enabling style that will help them to inspire others. They will be visionary, creative and strategically minded, with the ability to think beyond traditional educational frameworks and a passion for leading initiatives that enhance the learning environment. The Academic Deputy Head will lead the integration of emerging technologies and, as such, candidates will have an interest in and expertise in technology and AI within teaching and learning. Responsibilities Embed a scholarly culture and academic excellence across the school. Develop an innovative and strategic academic vision and design new curricula. Lead the integration of emerging technologies and AI into teaching and learning. Inspire staff and pupils to think expansively and act with purpose in a rapidly changing educational landscape. Cultivate a collaborative and enabling learning environment that supports high‑achieving students and teachers. Qualifications Significant experience of curriculum innovation, entrepreneurialism and leadership. Visionary, creative and strategically minded with an ability to think beyond traditional educational frameworks. Passion for leading initiatives that enhance the learning environment. Empathy with the school's ethos and strategic priorities; a collaborative and enabling style. Interest or expertise in technology and AI within education. Willingness to undergo safeguarding checks appropriate to the post, including Disclosure and Barring Service checks.
