About The Role We’re looking for a proactive and detail‑focused Underwriter to join our Liability team in Witham. You’ll be responsible for underwriting new business, renewals, and mid‑term adjustments (MTAs), ensuring brokers receive a consistent, high‑quality service. This is a great opportunity to work with a dynamic team and contribute to the growth of our SME Liability portfolio. What you will be doing Underwriting Employers, Public and Products Liability risks for SME clients. Quoting and managing new business, renewals, and MTAs. Building and maintaining strong relationships with brokers. Negotiating pricing and terms within your underwriting authority. Supporting cross‑selling initiatives and promoting SRG’s wider product offering. Collaborating with the IT team to enhance systems and test new products. Who we are looking for We’re looking for someone with solid underwriting experience and a collaborative mindset. You’ll be confident working independently and enjoy building broker relationships. You’ll Need Strong experience in commercial/SME insurance underwriting. Experience underwriting Employers, Public and Products Liability risks up to £10m. Familiarity with premium ranges up to £25,000. Understanding of industry regulations and compliance. Strong communication and negotiation skills. Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines. Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and Word.
