Clinical Fellow in Paediatric Stem Cell TransplantThisis an exciting opportunity to build on existing experience in paediatric stemcell transplant and leukaemia. We areseeking an enthusiastic individual with appropriate training to join ourdedicated team. This is new post based at the Leeds Childrens Hospital atthe Leeds General Infirmary in the heart of the city. Specialty Doctors arean integral part of our Paediatric Haematology and Oncology Department. Some of our Specialty Doctors have beenwith us for over ten years, while others have used the experience gainedthrough working in the post as a stepping stone to a consultant post. Theemphasis of the role is the in-patient and out-patient care of patientspaediatric haematology patients, especially those undergoing stem celltransplantation for leukaemia and haemoglobinopathy.Main duties of the jobDUTIESOF THE POSTDo ward rounds on the stem celltransplant unit and of other paediatric haematology patients as neededSee patients attending acutely tothe day unitParticipate in clinics for stemcell transplant patients, leukaemia patients and for those with non malignantconditions in the childrens haematology and oncology day unitSupport the stem cell transplantteam with administrative tasksShare responsibility for the general anaesthetic lists carrying out haematological procedures (typically lumbar punctures and bone marrow examinations)Participate in a weekend daytimeservice to the paediatric oncology department.
