Care Service Manager Location: Tameside, Cheshire, Hyde, Stockport, Dukinfield Contract: Full Time Role Type: Permanent Working hours per week: 40 Salary: Competitive Closing Date: Friday 19 December 2025 CareTech Community Services, established in 1993, provides support for people with complex and challenging behaviours associated with autism, learning disabilities, mental health illnesses and neurological conditions. We aim to empower individuals to live independently at home or in residential care, and are committed to delivering the highest levels of care. We have 250 services and continue to grow. All applicants will undergo satisfactory reference checks and all employees are screened through the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS). Successful candidates will be required to complete an enhanced DBS disclosure prior to commencement; the disclosure expense will be met by the employer. We are unable to consider skilled or student visa applicants for this opening. Car Driver – Essential due to the nature of this post. Main Duties and Responsibilities Supervise and lead a team of support workers to enable service users to lead as fulfilling and satisfying a life as they possibly can. Act as a role model for staff, encouraging them to understand the people they support. Be actively engaged with service users and staff, continuously seeking opportunities for improvement to users’ lifestyles and staff’s skills and commitment. Participate in the day‑to‑day implementation of individual support plans and activities within a challenging environment. Maintain effective communication and liaison with service users, families and other parties while respecting confidentiality. Maintain accurate notes and records as required. Work as part of a team to provide high-quality care. Qualifications and Skills Experience working with complex individuals with a level 3 diploma in health and social care. Positive behaviour training is an advantage; you should demonstrate an understanding of the challenges faced by complex people. Forward-thinking with strong communication skills to facilitate and break down barriers to good care. Personal Characteristics NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent (essential). Experience supporting adults with challenging behaviour, learning disabilities and/or mental health issues. Ability to remain calm under pressure. Confidence to work alone and as part of a team. Excellent communication skills. Passion for working with vulnerable adults. Commitment to high standards of safeguarding.
